The blacklist season 5 episode 13 recap

The most important part of the episode should have been the mysterious flashback scenes with Red and his French lover, Josephine Molière. It would be nice if Red felt even a tiny bit of panic or uncertainty… just occasionally. Meanwhile, the DEA agent who has figured out that Red is an FBI informant gets killed in the crossfire. As for the shootout, it ends up being way too convenient for my taste as Red is easily able to just slip away with Alistair Pitt. As an aside, how did the Vaccaros think they were going to get away with this? Pitt had already told both sides that his powerful friends would kill all of them if they got out of line. It ends up being is such an unrealistic plan that it blows up in everyone’s face during a crazy shootout where the Vaccaros kill all the Eriksons and then the DEA kills all the Vaccaros. All we got was a simple mob war that was going to be solved by an arranged marriage. Sadly, it feels like the whole storyline with these two was underdeveloped. Way to put Tom Bond in his place, Gina!Īs part of the brilliant casting for this episode, “The Blacklist” picks Vincent Curatola from “The Sporanos” as the chief of the Vaccaro family and Ronald Guttman, one of those actors who you have seen a million places but cannot place exactly what role he has been in, as the head of the Eriksson family. Gina: “Gee, let me call the girl I dumped to see if she can help with the girl I knocked up.” Tom has no response to this. Her love life is such a mess right now! Girl, would you please just pick lovable Aram and be done with it?!?!ġ. Even if they had an insane error in judgement which gives you night sweats and causes you to lost 9 pounds in one month.” Anyone notice Aram looking thin lately? Samar sure looked uncomfortable throughout that scene. Aram: “I think its romantic to forgive someone you love. Honestly, if I paid taxes, I’d be outraged.” Ever the career criminal, Red wouldn’t dream of laundering his money and actually paying taxes!Ģ. Red: “The FBI says it spent a billion dollars on facial recognition software, which means it probably spent $3 billion. This episode features some wonderful lines by “The Blacklist’s” brilliant writing team.

Pity, as I hoped the character might end up doing more. When Red finally offs him, it is with barely a whimper. By the end of the episode, he’s a lot less interesting and he has lost his cute pups. But, from there his character goes downhill. His high point comes when he takes a bath with his dogs while devising a way to bring two mob families together. As for this episode of “The Blacklist,” Shalhoub’s Pitt starts out as a fascinating, quirky character. He steals the film without uttering a single understandable word.

Tony is one of my favorite actors around, dating back to his time on “Wings.” You simply must see him as a taxi driver who speaks some kind of gibberish language in the underrated comedy, “Quick Change” with Bill Murray and Gina Davis. And without any further ado, here are 5 interesting things I noticed in this episode:įrom the moment he walks on screen with a tiny dog suffering from hanging tongue syndrome (it is a thing, look it up) under one arm and another small dog by his side, Tony Shalhoub is utterly magnetic on the screen.
